I am working on txt files so the line wrap works - PLEASE report any files that go off into space to the right and I will fix it. The new tools with Internet Explorer 4.0 FrontPad and Textpad ( shareware ) seem to work.

A book with "A new Scientific Understanding of Living Systems,
1996," is about methods of finding patterns in complex systems.
The "better" theory suggested by Capra is not a set of laws and
concepts but a way of looking and thinking. Things, objects,
structures are parts of patterns and processes. The patterns and
process is life. God is not a thing, or a thought, or a theology,
but a process and the face of God is found in the patterns of the
universe, the harmony of the spheres.
We are asked to reexamine some of our most fundamental paradigms.
We are asked to look for "quality" in patterns of whole systems
as well as quantities of its parts. Synergy exists in systems
where "the whole is more than the sum of the parts" and is basic
to all living systems. We are asked to examine the pattern of
relationships, of communications and information, as well as the
functions of the pieces and parts. Economics, evolution,
psychology and political theory are all built on the "classical"
scientific models. Fritjof questions the reality of these models
in the understanding living process and in "The Tao of Physics"
the importance of quality relationships between the elemental
particles of matter itself.
The fundamentals of our social belief systems are less than half
right, incomplete and often misleading. We are challenged to
expand our thinking by using general systems, cybernetic networks
as new models of reality. The Internet, World Wide WEB, is a
living complex network. Technology helps forms the web of life by
changes in the patterns of communications, in quality and well as
quantity styles. Capra gives us some tools for understanding
complex living systems, such as the WWW.
The "Law of Supply and Demand" is a general model of prices, and
the allocation of resources by the market. As in most,
traditional models economics uses many liner relationships. The
quantity of goods supplied will increase with price, when the
price goes up more will be produced, the line slopes up; demand,
however, fall as prices raise, demand slopes down. The
intersection of the demand curve with the supply function is a
dynamic price at equilibrium. The sum of supply/demand functions
determine what is produced and consumed by the working of free
markets. The rational allocation of resources is achieved by
individuals and firms making choices based on the utility of
goods and services.
Evolution is a process of shifts of the properties within
population so those individuals and groups that do better
increase their numbers and command of resources relative to other
individuals in their breading groups and other members of their
ecological community with less effective characteristics.
Governments create authoritative rules for their societies as
part the social and physical infrastructure supporting orderly
transactions. Systems of laws about contracts, money and banking,
insurance, communications and transportation, public education
and safety, promote social stability and prosperity.
These are dangerous half truths built on very limited concepts of
complex living systems and old machine physics. The free market
in itself does not produce or even tend towards a high "quality"
of life, evolution is not and orderly, slow process of "progress"
from simple to complex, governments reflect more than they create
societies, they then to lead from the rear. Quality of life,
peace and prosperity, progress comes from the "character" of
social relationships, trust, communications, intelligence,
cooperation, initiative, enterprise, hope, faith, loyalty, belief
in the greater good, myths, spirits and soul. It was the
character of relationships that built the industrial world not
economic theory. The American Character and the frontier built
democracy in America not political theory. Economic and political
theory does not build great societies as good management theories
do not build great companies, or educational theory create great
schools. The fates are not in our stars, or our theories, but in
ourselves and the quality of our character.
